This 3.5mm TRS Socket to TRRS Plug patch cable allows external microphones and mixers to connect to smartphones or tablets. The cable has a 3.5mm TRS socket on one end and a TRRS Plug on the other. The TRS (2 rings) connects to a microphone/mixer lead which then plugs into the microphone or mixer itself, and the TRRS plug (3 rings) goes into your smartphone. The newer smartphones and tablets that don’t have the old skool headphone socket will obviously need the relevant Apple/Samsung adaptor.
